Bungled Marek's vaccination and killed my chick

Barbu de Watermael seem to be the most cursed breed above all others. Every time I run across a post about them here it's about them slowly dying from disease or unknown conditions. One young lady here paid thousands of dollars to a vet trying (and failing) to keep hers alive. Out of compassion I think this is a breed best not conserved

I know two breeders with them and they have not had that experience. They are super cute and sweet chickens.

There may be some lines that have issues but overall I don't think they are a bad breed. The same could be said for silkies, some people really struggle keeping them and others like myself have some great little floofs.

I had a cross that basically had no immune system against the strain my flock has. Both their parents were/are carriers and had no symptoms, but every chick I hatched from that pair went barreling down hill before they hit 6 months old.
