bunny frustrations...make me feel better

ms fp, I have had snakes get in and eat kits from a couple days old to out of box, hopping around, maybe 3 weeks old. They generally can't get back out of the cage after. Even the one (large bull snake) that got in and only got 2, two day old satin kits could not fit back thru the wires. I the snake killed her he probably would have eaten her.

We boarded up the bottom of the large hutch. Mrs. Fluffy Puffy Sassy ( her baby ) and her other baby and a little rooster are now in the X-Rabbithutch. My dad built me a SNAKE-PROOF rabbit hutch last winter. I just don't have any rabbits!

all does do different things and each litter is difference u learn from experiance and trial and error. i have had does first litter loose them to being to cold, most did great with no probs before. my newest does to be mom's one never pulled fur, never made a nest and totally ignored them she was a lop lost all her babies to cold. the rest of these r mini rexes.

next one had 4 kits and did perfect here is her babies. only one has eyes open so far.

i seperated them and put 3 back with mom i knew she needed to learn and i helped her with nest and trying to feed them ect. went inside to eat and get kids to bed and came back out to recheck them they was all scattered, to cold and lost them. the other 2 i fostered with the babies above and she has done wonderful with them. these r the 2 fostered that made it. i figured if by chance she lost hers maybe i could at least save part of them sure enough i did.

About 4 years ago I had Lop rabbits and we thought we had 2 males but to are suprise we ended up with a male and female and the female was pregnant and when she had her babies she was the best momma rabbit I've ever seen! She had 7 babies one was a runt and died 2 days after it was born, and she never did need help with mothering them at all. And after 3 years of having rabbits we finally sold them and got chickens instead and one babie was pure white and was really nice when he was older and neither the parents were or had any white in them at all..
