burn remedy

As an EMT we were told never to put anything on a burn, not even water. You just cover a burn with a sterile burn cloth and tape it to the skin. You can do more damage putting stuff on burns because it introduces so much bacteria to compromised skin.

This is baloney. It would be incredibly irresponsible to encourage an EMT to do something so potentially life-threatening to a patient.

Right, Bunnylady. Anything you put on a burn then has to be SCRAPED OFF in the emergency room. I'm sure that would be extremely painful. Cold water and the ER only.

I've used honey on minor burns and it worked great. Never tried egg, think I will stick with the honey or ER if it's a really bad burn.
