Burning Question

I have mine in brooders in the house right now. (Still working on fort knox coop). I let my oldest out so she isn't isolated. (All the other chicks we got with her died.) In my fear that I was gonna lose her too, I babied her. I hate the poop and can't wait to get her out to the coop. I don't recomend house chickens. Between the poop and their dander I'm going nuts!

I'll cuddle my baby chicks in my recliner for small blocks of time, and sometimes they poop on me....but mostly they wait until I put them back OR give them to my husband. :ya I handed him a baby the other day and it pooped on him twice in a row!.. the second one was cecal too :gig:sick

Also, my chickens poop everywhere too. I would not trust them not to poop in my house.

Same here. Though I've read that some house chickens are trained to "hold off" so they poop in a set location. I suppose if a parrot can be trained to do that then so could a chicken, with enough work. I had a cockatiel that trained himself to not poop while I napped (he'd sit on my leg) so in that case, yes I felt perfectly safe letting him run around on my bed.
