I was wondering if anybody has experienced anything similar. I was moving a rooster from one pen to another when it got a good hold of my cheek and drew blood. Ever since ive been feeling a very light burning/numb sensation in the area, as well as my lip and around the eyes, forehead. Its been about a week and its still there. Comes and goes. The rooster does not look sick. The wound healed up with no complications.

edit: i just want to add that i am not allergic to anything and dont have allergies

I did go to the doctor earlier this week they hooked me up to a heart machine that detects clots/stroke and also got chest xrays done and blood work. Everything came back negative for what they checked for. I also just quit smoking after 14 years and some say it might be the extra oxygen getting to my face. But i know it had to do with the bite since thats the exact area i started feeling the tingling. I will schedule another apointment with another doctor this week for a second opinion.

While I do agree with other peeps...

I know some hens peck at shiny things like my teeth and such out of sheer curiosity.

But if this was in any way intentional on the roosters' part... the ONLY burning sensation I would feel might be the hot water hitting my hands while I swirl him around a pot in preparation for plucking! :drool

It's simply not worth the risk of losing any eye if or when you have to move him again.

No joke, congratulations! :wee
