Yes, I have been lurking. I have enjoyed reading about everybody and there chickens. I had chickens years ago when my kids were small and that was a great enjoyment. Now I am 55 years old and am getting back into it. I got 10 white rock pullets and 2 Dark Cornish cockerels and was going to see how close I could get to the cornish rock x meat chickens and enjoy it on the way. I wanted to hatch the eggs and raise chickens for myself. About 8 weeks into this while I was not looking, something got into my pin late one evening and got all 10 white rocks. 2 Rosters and 5 Road island reds. I could not believe it. Well I went to the flee market and bought 8 RIR hens that had just started laying. My grand kids, 3 and 4 loves to go to the chicken pin and gather the eggs. But today I placed an order for more White rodk pullet hens and 2 Dark cornish roosters. They should be here on the 22ns of Feb. But the reason I have not posted is because I dont have a question to ask that everyone has not answered for me with just a little reading. I have learned about automatic watering, using a electric car radio antena to open and close the door, and many other questions I have had.
