I was just outside digging in the garden. I have a huge area I am trying to get rid of weeds in. It a horrible weed that keeps growing back from the tiniest piece of root, So i just keep turning over the dirt every day to remove the new growth and roots I can find....... Anyway. I put the shovel in and uncovered a huge frog

I screamed so loud and jumped backwards so far I nearly fell over backwards

I live in suburbia so Im sure the neighbours would have heard.

How embarrasing...it was just a frog...they arent scary.

My daughter came running out to see what happened..... She laughed so hard at me.

Im not afraid of frogs..I guess it was the shock of seeing something unexpected on the loose turned over soil.

Glad it wasnt a snake

Who knows what my reaction would have been.

I gave it to my daughter to take over to a near by creek. It might survive longer there, rather than in my back yard with the shovel and heaps of ducks.
She wouldnt touch it though....she wanted me to get it into a bucket first.

It was pretty big...I thought maybe it could have been a toad. But it was covered in dirt so I didnt get a real good look at it....just to make sure I didnt amputate anything when I put the shovel in underneath it.

I dont know much about frogs or toads. Are toads more likely to bury themselves???
