Even pure breeds will give a dq now and then or clean faced he won’t ever show but bet he carries the blue gene I have a clean faced blue, he’s beautiful

Hatcheries will sell EEs as Ameraucanas but they spell it differently, like Americana. It confuses many people. He’s still a gorgeous rooster and probably carries the blue egg gene.

Well, that does make a difference. When most people post that they bought Ameraucanas from a hatchery, they are usually talking about places like Hoover’s for Privett. If you search threads on this site with the name “Ameraucana” in the title you’ll see the vast majority of them have pics of EEs in them. However, I should have paused when you said “very reputable” in your post. I would definitely contact the hatchery and ask why you received an Ameraucana that doesn’t qualify as such according to the SOP.

The fact they are selling them for Qty 1-25 strait run for $6.00 probably explains it. They do have a pretty website though.
