Butchered chicken meat weird smell and taste wont go away.

You got the gallbladder (next to and attached to the liver) out in its entirety, right?
Be very careful not to break the gallbladder when getting the giblets after you have gotten the intestine out.

Very true.
If some of the internal organs burst inside( like the bile sack) when gutting, that will surly taint the meat and make it taste off. Wont hurt you though.

So I did the craziest thing... I actually tasted the feed I give them and that's exactly how the meat tasted to me:lau
So I'll definitely switch feed!
Thank you for sharing what you found. Interesting method. Definitely glad that you did it and solved the mystery.

What food was it? Was it expired? Where did you get it?

It's called country lane 22% meat bird crumble. I get it from orscheln farm store. It's like a tractor supply. The food wasn't expired, but it does have a very strong smell to it. I'm going to put more money into my feed and buy organic instead.
You realize that I'm going to go smell my feed store now. The stuff I buy I smell on the drive home. The other stuff hasn't been sniffed. :D

I wonder if the feed bag tag might have a list of ingredients the folks here could see, maybe that might ID the offending taste for us? Would you mind posting a pick of the label?

That's not all that weird. I bought a bag of organic feed that was on sale, a different brand than I usually buy, and it smelled WEIRD to me. I'll probably never buy it again. Where other feeds have a nice farm grain-like smell, this smelled a lot like plastic or some similar chemical smell. It was very offensive. Mine was for layers though and it didn't seem to adversely affect the taste of the eggs. I am so sorry it affected your meat birds like that :( I'd be very frustrated. do you have a dog? You can slow roast the carcass with some carrots/rice/potatoes and serve up a really good meal for your dogs (or cats).
