Hi everyone!

I'm going to be raising Cot Quail for meat and eggs. Before I loaded my incubator with quail eggs, I had told a friend to save some chicken eggs for me to hatch as that was the plan before the quail came into the picture. She called me the other day and told me she had 2 Doz of eggs for me

. So I borrowed her incubator and now I have 2 Doz eggs going.

I want about 6 Hens for my new apartment, but if all 24 hatch that's going to be a lot of extras.

I was planning on raising them all till I could tell Pullets from Cockerels, than butchering the cockerels. Would it even be worth my feed and time to butcher them at 4-8 weeks or when there able to be sexed? Figured they would be bigger than the quail at least.

Just trying to figure out what to do with the extras, I know I could give them away on Craigslist

4-8 weeks is small but bigger than quails

I would say sell them

should be able to sex at 4 weeks easily depending on breed of chicken
