I have two Narragansett toms that I will be butchering this weekend. I am wondering which is more humane- slicing their jugular or chopping their heads off? I have watched some YouTube videos and see it done both ways.
Anyone with helpful tips or videos would be much appreciated. Thanks.

If you check out the Meat Birds ETC forum, you will find lots of information there. I shoot mine in the head with a .22 and then chop off their heads once they calm down.

Slicing the jugular or choping the head will make to flap around if not secured. I put mine in a sack and hang them on a tree or sit on top of them then cut the vein so they bleed to death.
