Butt tumor on a newly hatched chick

400

Does anyone know what is wrong with him (yes him) he was born that way and was an emergency assist hatch (he nearly took 48 hours before I gave in) he is still in the incubator and is a day old. He walks fine and stumbles a bit. The smell I'm the incubator makes me nauseus and now m my clothes sink and my hair stinks and I'm not sure id its another egg or him. Another chick is responding to him. I've been in the chicken business for five years since i was 8 and I've never heard of anything like this
I have a chick that was just born with the same problem… not sure what to do for it… it was boring with five others in the incubator. It’s the only woman with the growth on its bottom. Looks just like yours but yellow

That sounds like the yolk sack. Leave it alone and keep the other chicks away from that one until the sack is absorbed.

If you have an incubator, I'd set it for 95F and put that chick back in there for 12/24 hours.
