This is Zeus, a six year old button quail that a friend of mine got from me as a chick. He has been through a lot, but has kept going with indomitable spirit. He now appears to have an eye infection, and I've advised saline rinse and antibacterial ointment without pain killer.

@007Sean Do you have any additional advice?

An antibiotic if you have any, if not, then a vet will have to give you a script for it. It appears to be Infectious Coryza? or possibly a Mycoplasma infection.

That was my possible diagnosis as well. Do you have a specific antibiotic in mind? Dosage? I've done a fair amount of wound first aid, but I don't know much about administering antibiotics.

Well, neither is curable, just treatable for the symptoms. I'd try tetracycline, if you have it?.... @casportpony would be better at dosage than I.
