Button Quail Eggs (UPDATE, Pics added)

Oh yay Marie! I just picked up a pair of cinnamon buttons at a poultry show this morning. They came with 4 eggs-5 by the time I got home. I'm going to see about putting thm in the bator. Post pics soon!

I really WANT some button quail...but can't really find a way to justify it.

I agree, they are very cute and adorable. I just love watching them run around. I made them a hiding place out of an old easter basket yesterday and they love it. I will be moving them to a fish aquarium tomorrow. I have to get it out of the attic and get it set up. I think they will love it and I will love being able to see them from across the room. Will try to get pics up soon. I have to get them downloaded and I have not felt well. I only ended up with 10 total but that is ok, it is a good start.

Hi,

your buttons are adorable. When I hatch mine out i have to take there food and put it in the blender and make almost dust out of it. they can not eat the crumbles for about a week. I put it on a dish so they can find it and know where it is. Good Luck with them they are a lot of fun.. I have a pair of them.

Thanks everyone. I did put the crumbles into the food processor and they eat the crumbs and leave the larger pieces. I have since added a dish with the food in it and a different waterer. They aer doing absolutely great. From what I read, they get about 4-5 inches long as adults. I am guessing about the size of a finch. It is amazing how quick they are already.
