Button quail hatched!

alright, so I'm now in possession of some lovely button chicks, but I feel like I'm going to get things wrong. Any advice on how high to keep the lamp, how to get them to drink/eat, and when to transfer them would be much obliged. (or any other tips one might have.)

An update, I think I've got two of them to drink, which is a sigh of relief to me.

How high to keep the lamp depends on the temp below it. I keep a thermometer in the hottest area and the coldest area. To start I like to have the temp between 95-100 keeping an eye on them to see how comfortable they are.

Tap on the food and water and they will follow your hand around and peck at what you tap. Once one figures out the food and water, the other usually follows. If you have a dish, put marbles or something in it so they can't drown.

How old are they now?

You can leave them unattended in their brooder for a little while, but especially when they're young, stay reasonably close by in case there's a problem (which shouldn't be hard if we're all stuck at home). Don't panic though, you don't need to watch them like a hawk 24/7.

24 hours almost exactly now.

I've been checking on them about every 30 minutes to an hour.

Another update, 2 more hatched today, one is fine, but the other is a bit strange. It sits down with it's legs kinda to the side, but I've seen it walk around semi-normally (if not a bit wobbly.) They're walking and sitting fine this morning, so I'm just assuming it's a case of learning to bird
