They need to eat/drink sooner than chickens though, so no more than 24 hours if you can help it.

I'd move buttons sooner than chicks. They are usually more active and when I left some in overnight to wait for the others to hatch they got bored, hungry, and picked some of the later hatching ones bald. Move them out as soon as they are dry enough.
