day 8 is still pretty early so you should be fine just be careful and can I ask why you opened the vents? if the heat is too high you should adjust the temp or adjust the room temp.. It is hard to keep the temps always the same, the air temp in the room will effect the incubator as well. just be extra careful. Good Luck.

The humidity was to high as well, and I meant to say day 9! Someone told me to open the vents when it gets to hot gosh I feel dumb lol, but thank you for teaching me better I may have been doing that for the rest of my life!!

With the storms we have been having here in Colorado the humidity is high and you should not need to add any water to your incubator. My humidity in my house with the doors open was 70% yesterday so really don't need more in the incubator if anything care should be taken not to have too much. If you open the incubator for a few minutes the temp should fall but if it is continually high you need to adjust the thermostat. Good Luck. oh and you should open the vents the day you expect hatch for more fresh air for the chicks.

Well if you can't you can always order the chick starter online hopefully you can though cause it's just a hassle and expensive ordering online at least for me it is.
