I am overrun with button quail (about 1 month old). I have 11 that I need to get rid of...how much should I sell them for on craigslist or should I just give them away?

If you don't have the pen space, money to build pens, or time/money to take care of your extra birds, then I recommend you give them away, and be happy they are going to a good home.
As far as a sale price goes...I'll leave that up to the button experts.

You're right. I have never been able to sell anything. I usually give a lot of things away.

Theres no reason you couldnt sell them... Right?

I just bought some buttons at an auction for about $4.00 a piece, and there were some silvers there that went for $7.00 PER BIRD!!!

I would try to sell them, unless you need them gone right away.

I paid $10 for my Trio.. I think 3-4 a bird is a good price.. Besides you can always wheel and deal... I wish I was closer I desperatly need a few females.. Good luck .. I would try to sell them ... dont know how you feel about selling animals as feeders but you may check with your local pet stores to try to sell some. They may even take a few and see how they sell.. Good Luck

Darn. Too bad you live far away. By the way is this a silver? A few of mine are this color.

Wow! I put them on craigslist in the afternoon yesterday and had three calls last evening. I sold all 11 for $50. Makes me want to hatch more eggs. I wanted to keep a couple, but now I have an excuse to hatch more eggs.

I sell mine for 15.00 for females and 10.00 for males and 10.00 for chicks under 4 weeks. I only hatch for sales that have a deposit or for replacing my breeders. I have no problems selling them at this price. I have what I feel to be very nice stock and they are very well cared for so I don't want to hatch and sell them for a loss.
