Button quail sounds and behavor

I have a pair of button quails both make crowing sounds but the female recently started crowing once i put in new quails 2 wks chicks in and took them back out shes been calling out and pacing fast, does anyone know whats going on? Once i put the chicks in they start running up and pecking them.

What do you mean when you say crowing sounds? Only the males make the wind-whooshing crow. Both sexes make the "hee-hee-hee" as a locator call. She's probably looking for the chicks.

Everytime i put them in their she chances them and pecks at them so does the male

Yeah it's probably not a good idea to mix them. Can you put them somewhere they can see but not reach each other?
