Hi,

I'm looking for anyone who might be interested in trading button quail hatching eggs. I would like to introduce new blood into my flock. If anyone is interested please let me know.

Thanks,

Deb

I'd be willing in the future when mine are laying. They are around 5 weeks old now

a cinnamon pair and two white males... I think I will breed her just to the cinnamon roo though.

Thank you so much. I only have one white button and I've been hoping and hoping to get another white. I recently hatched about 24 buttons and I had one white chick but it didn't make it. Of all the chicks, that one died and I don't know why. The others are doing great. I've read that white is a recessive color so I'm not very hopeful of getting another white anytime soon though I do have another batch of eggs in the incubator and I'm crossing my fingers.

And now........... I HATE YOU!!!! LOL Just kidding, but I'm soooo jealous. You have Black Copper Marans and I've been wanting some of those for ages. It is my dream chicken but I can never get my hands on any. You are so lucky!

I might be able to do a trade with you.. Well as soon as mine are laying eggs. I only have one pair laying right now. And she went broody. Like it will do any good.. She got off of the nest to early last time.. All the others are about 6 weeks. But they are molting. So who knows when they will start laying.. Get back to me some time..

And if you don't find any by the time my birds are laying i'd be happy to hook you up with some on a swap, or something similar.

I've been very blessed to have marans lots of wonderful people have started me out on them

I have 2 around 4 month old pullets, but the one isnt ideal so she may be sold or stay as a layer im not sure yet (she has the wrong color eyes), and a around 4 month old cockerel who so far looks perfect!
smile.png
Then a 3 month old cockerel. Thennn theres the 1 month old trio, 1 cockerel and 2 pullets, that so far all look decient the one hen may not be ideal.... just got to wait a bit more and see. THENNNN I just hatched out 6 chicks yesterday, out of those 6, theres already three Im' not keeping (yellow legs). BC marans carry the wheaten gene (well most do) and it can get expressed easily (some come OUT wheaten when not even breeding for them) so far I haven't had that happen but I wont be suprised if it does! LOL! So those three cuties will be going to a laying flock home unless I end up having to keep them (as many around here dont seem to know what marans are...lol)! Then I have like 8 eggies in the bator (mostly bc marans but theres like 3 eggs that are BLACK, BLUE and possibly splash they aren't feather shanked but that's quite easy to breed into the birds I've been told. So never fear!!! I'll hook ya up if you still are needing/wanting them when the time comes that mine are laying
smile.png
I'll ofcourse be incubating for my own project for a while first but soon after i'd be happy to send some to ya!

AND IIIII Don't hate you

ANYWHOOO, again if you were closer, those 2 white boys would be yours!!! LOL! Yeppers its a reccessive gene but if I ever breed the whites to the hen then I'd make sure to send those eggs off ot you, you prob wont get white babies, but you'd be able to breed those to your white bird and hopefully GET white babies

I could do it here shortly. I have a white roo over an ivory red breasted hen. Then the group that should soon be laying soon has three cinnie hens, an ivory red breast hen, a red breast (cinnie?) roo and two slates/smokies that are of unknown gender.
I also have a group with like three whites, two splash, a pied vader and wilds, double factor blueface, blueface, red breast, etc. But they won't be breeding for awhile yet, probably this summer.
The pair that're laying now should pop out some whites, the breeder that they came from had at least two white roos in his flock, and I think he only had one other roo in the flock, so the hen should carry white. I have some of her eggs in the bator testing now.

That would be great! I would love to get some more white and also some pieds and splashes. I have a picture I'm going to post here in a minute, as soon as I resize it, hoping one of you can tell me what color it is. Or more accurately, what it's color is called.
