Button Question for the Experts

citalk2much - I would love to cool them down, not much of a chance here - my kitty thinks he is a tiger, so can't bring them inside and here is FL there is no chance of cooler for a couple more months. What is the average life span on buttons? Are there any good books out there on them? I am getting more interested in them. Hubby doesnt complain about them as much as chickens. So maybe I may change directions here a little bit.

Garries book is a great book.
The cooling them down was just another idea to slow the laying. Life span is a hard call I would say 5 to 6 years
