Button Questions

So we hatched some Button Quail and they were two weeks old yesterday. They are still in the brooder with heat, but they are growing so fast that we need to get going on building some cages. How old do they have to be before I can try sexing them by the vent feathers? We have nine of them. Also, I know that I won't end up with enough hens and males for pairs..... sot then what do I do??? They have almost all their feathers, except on their heads. Any help with this would be appreciated. Also Quail Lady, can you please tell me what the bird is on your avatar??? It is absolutely gorgeous!!!

Just found a website with the Button colors..... I see Quail Lady that the bird on your avatar is indeed a Button, Yay! From what I see on my colors I have: one definite silver, one lighter silver, one that looks like silver & white (?), three that look white, and three that look very dark...... Not sure what that means I will end up with? Except of course the whites and the silvers... One of the dark brown has white on the throat and the tip of each wing????

but they sure do get prettier here on. My avatar Is a blue breasted cbbq male so you may get one in your little flock
