I have not raised any other types yet. In Iowa to raise quail I have to have a game breeders liscense. I suppose by rights I should have it now but there is no chance for these to escape so I am not worried about it yet. I would like to get into the larger ones for meat processing either just for us or try to sell on a small basis. My sister wants to get into alpacas which will come here and so I dont want to get to much going until I know how that goes..lol Here are some pics of the adult birds. They are about 4 inches long and about 2 to 3 inches high. They are kinda hyper but if you only had a few you can work with them to remain calm and handle them. Mine will let me clean thier cage with out panicing to much if I work slow. I will have a large 5 to 6' long by 3' by 3' avary for them as soon and the hubby builds it. I cant wait!!! I love watching them run around and make thier little calls.
