I bought 1.4 adult buttons at the stockyards this past Saturday. It us almost Monday, and there are no eggs. Are these just a highly seasonal bird? Or a bird that lays like a sebright? LOL.
It couldn't be a photoperiod screw up, I provide 14 hrs of light.

They are seasonal layers, but they are also highly sensitive. I moved my buttons from inside the house on to the covered porch this past spring, and it caused them to stop laying for a month.
Just give them some time, they should start back up.

Where are you keeping them? They need to be indoors in the winter, they can't handle the cold very well. If they are inside, they'll probably lay all winter long, with the lights in your house.

brown color or green i cant remember bla

and about as big around as a dime

First I was all "How do you buy 0.4 of a button?" Then I realized it was your ratio. LOL.

Sorry I can't be more help than none, but I don't have buttons yet...merely scouring their posts for info.

The lady I bought my coturnix from said that they will often stop laying for a week or two after being moved. Buttons are more sensitive than coturnix, it seems.

Buttons are very sensitive to changes. Their eggs are brown with darker spots or green with brown spots. One of my girls lays an egg that is always a greenish-blue color with no spots. Normally this would mean they were laid early, before all the color was put on, but not her. She lays the same looking egg every day

The eggs are about as big as my middle fingernail

That reminds me, around Easter I had gotten some of those mini-robin's eggs candies and had my dad believing they were the buttons eggs

They (the candies) are just a tiny bit smaller
