My now deceased MIL and my living SIL, who by the way grew up and still lives in the country, would only use the brown eggs for baking. This past fall, I started getting my blue eggs and my husband said he did not think they would taste very good. I quickly told him that they taste great, you have been eating them for the last two weeks!!!OMG! How this gives me giggle fits...my sister in law living below me has only leghorn hens as her hubby will eat *only* white shelled eggs.
I have both brown and easter eggs, free range chickens and am so very happy with eggs and hens![]()
I am loving this site and seeing all the breeds and sharing info..wonderful group!
Well the SBEL would fill the blue egg part but not the meat bird part. BR make good meat birds but I don't raise any breeds just for meat.... only DP breeds. OH wait..... Breese I have some white Breese growing out that might be laying by march..... Only 2 pairs so I would not have many eggs but some. Let me know and I can add you to my calendar.I'm looking for meat birds and blue egg layers the first week of March. Got anything?
