BUYER BEWARE: Blue Star Chicken Ranch in Austin TX

Good plan. And if a seller is asking more than what the hatcheries want, they should be able to backup their lineage with awards or pedigrees without being offended, and be able to quote most of the applicable standard. Unless you can Google their name and the breed and get a bunch of hits, they're probably asking too much. And just take the word "Rare" and strip it of any meaning or emotion right now. Ironically, the word has become totally worthless.
Again thank you so much, I’m still learning and still have a lot to learn.

Gonna’ go out on a limb, here, and guess you found her opinion of advice on BYC, um ..., a bit offensive?

And I’m okay with Mendel. Yup.
Nah, fools, by design, cannot offend. But i would totally agree if she were referring to the FB group, that's a whole other culture over there.

It's the ploy to gain the reader's trust by a passive aggressive "here's a great site, but let me imply that I'm so much better" that grinds my gears. I just really hate liars and people that purposely hurt others because they think they deserve to have it better than someone else. The unrealistic exaggerations, false criminal accusations, and misunderstanding of legal disclaimers and administrative and criminal procedure in a way that only serves to reinforce the story she believes is indicative of mental illness, so I kind of feel sorry for her in a way as well.

The key to true intelligence is to never stop learning, and one of the fastest ways to learn is by making a mistake. You'll be fine, this forum is full of good people and a sometimes overwhelming amount of information. Don't be afraid to ask what you don't know.

I spent more time than I should have on her website, shaking my head or chuckling. The site reminds me of old 1990’s info-mercials.

So I just scrolled to the bottom of the home page for their Site (why is it so long?!) And found a bunch of different links for all things, including apartment hunting sites. But it's in a super light grey/purple/blue Don't so it's almost invisible

It's called Keyword Stuffing, it was a cheap and shady way of increasing SEO back in the day. It's now highly frowned upon by legitimate web developers and the major search engines, so much so that they will actually lower your search rank if they discover it. Especially if the text is obfuscated and has nothing to do with the subject matter.

Craigslist is still full of it, just search for anything in equipment or tools and see the strange numbers of postings that show up for shipping containers or metal buildings (in Texas anyway). You'll see a block of word vomit at the bottom of the ad that has nothing to do with what's being sold.

Looking at the code and layout style, it appears that whoever is the developer over there bought one of those scammy get rich quick web development courses akin to her book or videos. The multiple URLs and redirects are also a big red flag, considering that it appears that they've been customers of the same domain registrar and hosting provider this whole time.

From BS ranch’s revamped website, I found this very interesting:

“Also, be sure to read the forum at Backyard Chickens. It's a good place on the web for beginners. When you are raising chickens to start your research and study more about chickens. Backyard Chickens is not a chicken farm but it may be a good place to start your research. If you request answers to questions, or post questions at Backyard Chickens, understand that not everyone there has real farm experience with chickens so you may get a complete range of differing answers to your questions. So do use your discretion at everything posted or researched here [sic].”

Italics are their emphasis, not mine.
This made me laugh out loud.
What an idiot.

Something else has me curious and I haven't had time to do more research. Our OP said that the necropsy came back Mareks, yet the quoted information from the website mentions MG/MS. This leads me to believe that there must have been reason to proactively deny BSR being the source of MG/MS but not Mareks...yet. What other diseases are they harboring over there?

Well, according to them, almost all chickens already have these illnesses, so.... who know.
