Buying baby chicks-MPC or Meyer

I have 2 khaki Campbell eggs in my incubator. Its 1:30 am and I'm gonna be up allll night. 1 egg is peeping! I can hear him loud and clear! Other one has from what I can see almost no difference in a few days so I'm not sure. But I'm super excited!

I put in an order with Meyer for the week of April 10th. That's my spring break from work. I'm a teacher, so I thought it would work best. I decided to order a Welsummer, Easter Egger, Australorp, and a Meyer Mealmaker. That brings the total to 4. I can't wait! Now I need to get a coop, run, brooder, and everything else before they come. I've got time to prepare.

Order from Meyer. MPC drop ships from them anyway and charges more. You'll get the same chicks ordering from Meyer as you would ordering from MPC.

I've heard this many times but would be interested in some clarification. A friend was putting together an order for spring chicks from My Pet Chicken. (I've ordered from them several times.) I mentioned that supposedly MPC gets their chicks from Meyer's .
If this is the case I would expect Meyer's prices to be lower so we checked this out together. Surprisingly we found the prices were the same or in some cases Meyer had the higher price, usually by only a few cents. Would anyone know why, and if this is the case the order will probably go to MPC. (Shipping prices weren't compared if that makes a difference.)

MPC is a broker not a hatchery. They network with a variety of breeders and distribute the chicks from those breeders. Some of their birds are sourced by the same people that maintain breeding flocks for Meyer.
