Hello BackyardChickens people! I am interested in buying Ex battery hens or rescue hens for a good life! I live in Sacramento, CA. I am willing to buy at least 2 hens for $10 each. They can enjoy green grass free-range, also sleeping in a 10x10 ft coop. I currently own a few friendly hens for 4 years. The coop is fairly predator proof too.

I don't think you'll find many battery hens on BYC... Most of us here are decidedly against that procedure and practice. As for other hens, There is rarely a person trying to down size and wanting to get rid of some hens here, but mostly it's roosters that folks here are getting rid of. I'd suggest that you post to Craig's List that you are looking for older/unwanted hens. You'll have a much bigger local "market" seeing your ad and stand a much better chance of success IMHO. Of course you can peruse the ads as well looking for anyone trying to sell hens. Good luck and hope you find some!
