I am just starting out and don't want to start with baby chic'sthe first time. I just started building my coop.
Is there a place that I can get chickens that are a few months old.

I agree with both walkingwolf and joshplus10, craigslist and feed stores are where they will be. But if you want tame ones that you can hold and play, and cuddle with it's worth it to raise some. Not that many places sell tame adult chickens.

I see some places sell "Bantams"
Is that a full size bird?
I'm not sure of the definition.

Bantams vary in size they are usually much smaller than full size chickens. Even standard chickens vary greatly in size. Check out one of the hatcheries web sites they usually give the standard weights of adult birds for each breed they sell.

Bantam is the definition of small. I sell chickens on Craigslist occasionally so yeah that's a good place to start.
