I am thinking of buying some hatching eggs of a breed of chicken I really really want. Lol. My question is for those who have hatched shipped eggs.. How far is to far to order eggs. As I am looking on eBay some are really far away. I was just wondering If anyone has a distance limit and what it is. Thanks.

I wouldn’t say my eggs have been affected by shipping because of the distance but more on the chance of irresponsible workers handling the boxes.

Shipping time I would say is more important than distance in my own opinion. For a better chance of having a better hatch rate.
x2.
I have had eggs from around 1,800 miles away hatch well. I wouldn't blink at a longer distance.

Ok thanks, I was looking at reviews on a few I haven’t had a chance to look at others. The ones I would like to buy are around 2000 miles away. There birds are beautiful.
Read lots of reviews.
Look specifically for packaging details and fertility details.

It shouldn't take more than 3 days to receive eggs from any of the lower 48 states, Alaska, does take longer because of the logistics. I'm in Texas and have orderd eggs from both East and West coasts, they all arrived in 3 to 4 days max. The main thing is how long the eggs have been stored before shipping...need to ask the seller how long they hold the eggs before shipping.

X2 packaging/ handling and storage are just as important as ship time.
That's so true!! I keep my eggs in a control air/humidity room and turn them at least 3 times a day. I love it when people tell me how many beautiful babies they get from me on ebay. There are some people out there will send you any kind of egg and say they are what your buying. example I ordered hatching eggs many years ago for micro Seramas. I received all first hatch pullet eggs and y'all know most of them are not going to viable
