Hi all,

New here and glad to have found this amazing resource!

Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?

I am new to chickens! We got our chicks about 2 weeks ago.

How many chickens do you have right now?

We have 5!

What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?

Growing up without pets I am excited to have some little curious babes around and I can’t wait until they start to lay.

What are some of your other hobbies?

I love to read, cook, garden, fish, and spend time with friends and family.


Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.

I am an elementary school teacher in the pacific northwest of Canada and am looking forward to seeing what everyone else has to say :)

Oh goodness, well as of this afternoon I have experienced
‘chicken math’ and have just added 3 more so we’re at 8! We have 2 barred rocks, 2 leghorns, 2 buff orpingtons (a smooth and a frizzled) a silkie and a black star
