buying or making a coop better?

hey guys i was jsut wondering is making or buying a coop better for 1 chicken? but i was looking at some really cute little rabbit hutches but i have some cool ieads too.

With so many factors go into that, it is hard to really pin that down. If you can at least swing a hammer with out nailing your thumb with every swing the satisfaction with making your own is hard to beat.

Chickens need friends. They're flock animals and don't fare well alone.

I assume the rabbit hutch would be predator proof? No openings a raccoon can reach into.

But you are welcome. LOL It all depends on your finances . You only have 1, But that is only a start. You might get hooked, and get more.
Here is my idea. and it is one that I use. Convert a little tykes children's playhouse into a coop. It is waterproof and you just need to secure the openings with proper screens and make door secure to prevent predators from entering.
I made mine 3 feet taller with plywood and have housed my chicks there during the warm months. In the winter now, they are in their winter condo inside the warm garage. PM me if you want a pix.
