Buying Roo?? what should he cost?

Quote:
I have heard of roos going for that much around here. But not being in that culture I have no personal knowledge of it. I have a pair of pumpkin cockerels and I wouldn't take anything less than $25 for them. But then they are not for sale either.

More like Arnold Schwarzenegger with feathers. He should have taken it, some one cleaned him out 3 days later in the middle of the night.

That's why I don't like to have people come on my place to buy. I know I would get more for them that way, but I sell to friends or take them to the auction. The auction I have been using went up to 25 percent commission fee. I think that is way too much.

Years ago, my parents were selling a litter of boxer pups from their house. They had sold all the pups except for the one they were going to keep. That night someone took it.

Depends on what you want to use him for... do you want to breed him or just to have a roo? If you just want a roo, go for it. If you want to breed him, I won't get him. He is probably crossed with something (another breed or variety or cochin) and it could make some funky babies.

it sounds to me like a pet quality cochin, black shouldn't have brass in the neck and is very hard to get out and many generations to breed it out of them if u even can. they can also have red in them as well and both pass on to futer generations. i'd not pay over $10 for him as a pet.

however if u r breeding him just for ur farm and not showing him or futer babies go for it! if u want it for show or possible show in futer i'd skip it and wait for a better one solid black that fits the standards.
