Proud to say my egg demand has exceeded output!
I also have some older hens that are mostly free loaders... eventually they'll be nothing from half my flock.
And, lost all but one laying duck.

I have 4+ week old chicks in brooder, but I'd like to acquire a few more layers to get through the laying gap.

Where is your recommended started/juvenile bird hatchery?
Ideally I'd like some colored egg layers, I have people that ask for them.

I see a few Craigslist options but I don't have an isolation pen. I'd rather take a risk on hatchery birds in terms of illness potential.

For someone with no concern regarding breeding or showing genetics, just wanting hardy farm birds, what would you pay per bird? Some hatchery options seemed outrageous...

The shipping can be pricy, but large hatcheries offer started pullets. Meyer, for example.

Look on NPIP website -at top is a link for searching by State. Scroll through the listings to see if there is a breeder/hatchery near to you. They have addresses and phone numbers.
