Days 12-17:

I have some free time this morning before I take off for the weekend, so I decided to catch up on this week's Birdtober. Then I threw in tomorrow's because I had an empty space I wanted to fill and didn't feel like doing any of the ones I missed from before this week.

(And for those who live in warmer climates and might not understand my Courtship Display, please know, there's nothing quite like waking up to a male woodpecker trying to win a female by hammering on the loudest thing possible- a metal chimney. )

Day 16: waterfowl! I chose the common merganser. I loved the spiky hairdo!

Day 14: irruptive species! I chose the Bohemian WAXwing (as opposed to the Bohemian CEDARwing that I invented by mixing up the Cedar and Bohemian Waxwings haha). I’ve never seen this bird but it is very pretty!
