Day 20: non vocal sounds! Today I did some birdwatching and spotted this pretty guy, the red bellied woodpecker. It seemed like a sign; I had to draw him! And when I found this adorable reference picture I decided to try something new and give it a go. I love how it turned out!

Day 21: female plumage! I drew the pretty female painted bunting. I’ve actually seen a male painted bunting, and they are just stunning. But these lovely ladies are beautiful too! Hopefully someday I will see one.

Thanks! Aw... I used to to have three, too, but that was years ago. I always love their crests and I enjoy drawing them.

Yeah they are such hilarious birds! We have 2 frizzled Polish mixes, Stick and Pinecone, and my favorite, Jadwiga, is a white Polish. She has tried to die a million times but I have nursed her back to health and now we have a close friendship haha

Awwwww!!! They're so cute!!! I love their names too. Not to laugh, but tried to die? I feel like Polishes just have issues like that. I know on one of the ones I had, she managed to get herself in some life-threatening trouble a time or two (which ended up being one of the reasons why we didn't keep them).
