Awwwww!!! They're so cute!!! I love their names too. Not to laugh, but tried to die? I feel like Polishes just have issues like that. I know on one of the ones I had, she managed to get herself in some life-threatening trouble a time or two (which ended up being one of the reasons why we didn't keep them).

Thanks! Yeah they are so high maintenance like that haha. Jadwiga was getting her crest pecked out, then she got wry neck, then she got trapped in the feeder, etc etc. She is by and far my chicken most comfortable with me because I’ve had to handle her so much!! But I love her. She’s very sweet

Oh, ouch, yeah, that's a lot. She actually kinda reminds me of my EE, Twyla. She flew into a broken window and sliced her wing, got caught upside-down on the perches, then had bad nesting box anxiety that was impossible... My poor Polish's biggest issue was my gander. But yes, high maintenance was another issue we were having (and wasn't prepared for in my first couple of years of chickens).

Oh, ouch, yeah, that's a lot. She actually kinda reminds me of my EE, Twyla. She flew into a broken window and sliced her wing, got caught upside-down on the perches, then had bad nesting box anxiety that was impossible... My poor Polish's biggest issue was my gander. Day 23: Gull/tern! I had to do this one kind of fast today. It was a day of shenanigans. Maybe I spent more time on the purple background than on the bird; I'll never tell. But I really like the contrast so I'm still happy!

She was up until I retired her. I don't know how she's doing in her new home. She did pass some of her "issues" down to her offspring. One of her sons had this thing about jumping up into the wall for no reason and one of her daughters (whom I just sold) had her nesting box anxiety. (Finally I don't need to keep cardboard in my nesting boxes!) I see that with the Polishes. I find it too bad that my first experience with them was then instead of now. I'm glad that they're working out for you for a first time.

And no, I didn't do a dinosaur though that was what I thought of when I first read "Zygodactyl."
