Well I would definitely encourage you to respect their wishes. They don't want you getting hurt, taken advantage of, or in trouble for some reason. The Internet isn't inherently safe unfortunately... It's scary not knowing who could be talking to your kid online, there are people out there who wouldn't hesitate to lie, manipulate and eventually even threaten you to get things.

When I was little I was told that everyone online was a middle-aged fat man in his parents basement trying to take advantage of me and kidnap me so he could sell me to s** tr*ff*ck*ing rings or r**e me.......... So I was scared.

Someone who gets it!! By the time I was five I knew to "knee, scrape, stomp and run". Knee them in the nuts, scrape your shoe down their shin, stomp on their toes and RUN. Also everyone is out to kill you and that guy with a dog who's with his kids at the park is definitely lying and wants to kidnap you and if you ever get within a mile of a city and someone happens to glance at you, they are definitely going to drug, r**e, and beat you then sell you to Arabia or something idk.

yup!! I was taught how to get out of grip or get out of someones arms if they pick you up. We used to do this thing where we'd fight our dad, he'd put us in locks and we'd have to get out of them etc and i thought was a game but after we stopped doing them i realized it was his version of self defense lessons.
