Just imagine- some random person... finding a BOREAL CHICKADEE

And not even knowing what it is! I wonder how many mega rarities have been passed off by people as "little brown birds"

That'd be nice to find one.

Yes, agreed. But on those, just the body shape should say what it is. Even though when it comes to "little brown birds", they can be hard to tell apart because so many look alike. It's like seeing a Golden Comet to inexperienced people in the chicken world. They often get called a RIR, but obviously isn't one.

My mom liked to feed the birds. I'd ask my step dad what kind of birds were at their feeders and he'd say "LBB's"....Little Brown Birds.

It's easy to enter, just reply to this thread with pictures of insects, reptiles, mammals, & amphibians!

To increase your chances of winning, please read the rules before entering.

Rules:

1. Four entries per member. An entry is one photo of a wild animal (insects, reptiles, mammals, & amphibians). Photos of plants and domestic poultry or livestock will not be accepted in this contest.
2. The photo needs to have been taken by you.
3. You cannot use a photo that was entered in a previous contest on BYC.
4. Basic editing such as cropping and other subtle changes are allowed. We want to see the world through your eyes, not through the excessive use of editing tools.
5. Images that have been resized might be disqualified if they are too small to judge.
6. No screenshots, and no watermarks, date stamps, text, etc. on the picture.
7. ALL pictures MUST be uploaded to BYC and not hosted on other image sites, personal websites, etc.
8. Prizes are limited to one per person per contest.
9. Open to all BYC members.
10. All BYC rules apply: Terms of Service (Rules)
11. Photos of plants and domestic poultry/livestock will not be accepted.
12. Entries will be accepted until Sunday, July 24th at 11:59 PM Pacific Time. Will take at least 2 weeks after the contest to post results.
