Who knew squirrels ate wild mushrooms?! We were sitting out back in our chairs having lunch and most of the back 'yard' is a wooded hillside. We looked up to see a squirrel sitting on a tree stump enjoying a mushroom snack! We grabbed the camera and took these quickly.

We were are the local Swimming pond and found a few of these critters. We released back once we were done. We found a baby catfish in a puddle that was drying up so we rescued it and put it in the lillypads

We have a pair of swallows nesting in our alcove patio . They are incubating their second clutch of eggs .
Funny story:
I'll call him Junior , that wouldn't leave the nest at fledging time although his sibling fledged the day before . Finally both parents simultaneously gave Junior a severe spanking . Let me tell ya something folks . When those parents flew from the edge of that nest Junior was hot on their trail . I thought my wife would crack up .

That's me! Is that a Mexican black kingsnake? Nice picture!

More than likely an eastern indigo.. I've seen very few of them.

It's a Southern Black Racer.

Just a note- Eastern Indigos can be quite rare, and they're always habitat specific. It's unlikely for someone to randomly just stumble upon one.
