How do you like the marbled crayfish? I've actually been thinking about adding a few.

hmm... I haven't had any for over 2 years. I'm trying to remember why I sold them...

They're neat little creatures, and it was very cool watching them 'self clone'.

I think that I didn't like feeding them. If I remember right, I was feeding them algae wafers, shrimp pellets, cumcumber, and a few other foods. They had trouble finding the food and it would go to waste so the tank was always dirty. I haven't heard of anyone else having this problem, so it could have just been mine.

Maybe I should get some more. Like I said, they were neat little creatures and I did enjoy them. I also might have sold them because of lack of space. I don't like having too many tanks up at one time, it's just too much work.

I just did a bit of research.

It says that they prefer natural foods such as aquarium plants and unwanted snails. It also says that they enjoy algae wafers, but the wafers tend to make tanks messy. So there you go, fun little creatures, but try to avoid feeding algae.

Here are a few pictures of some of the koi that I brought in for the winter. They aren't my best koi, but they are the ones that were small enough to fit in my 125 gallon. I always worry about them being outside, so I bring a few in each year.

Someone just dropped off a cooler full of fish. He took down his tank and figured that he'd just give them to me. He used to be my neighbor, so he knew I raised fish. I have no idea what many of these fish are and 1 of them looks like a piranha. What am I going to do with a piranha?

I take some pictures later to see if any of you know what they are. Some of them have me stumped...

Could it be a Pacu? They look quite similar.
It definitely could. I'm still not sure what it is, but it has a similar body shape, red anal and tail fin, and teeth. I'll take a picture of him in a bit. Like I said, I'm still not sure, but he's awfully suspicious looking. To make matters worse, many of the other fish in the cooler have missing fins. 3 of them don't have any pectoral fins, dorsal fins, and have really messed up tail fins. They look chewed off and I blame the only fish in the tank with teeth.

There were also a couple red phantom tetras and long finned black skirt tetras and their tails were unharmed which makes the situation even stranger...

It definitely sounds like a Pacu to me. They have a much nicer temperament.
