Is one of my newest chicken photography cards added to my Zazzle store. I've been busy adding tons of stuff over there lately so I haven't created a lot of new artwork lately.

Here is something silly I did for a challenge in the mixed media group I belong to. It's nothing I would or could sale as the dog is an image out of a magazine advertisement so it is copyright.

I did two new "sketches" if you can even call them that. I had two random ideas and wanted to get them on paper before I forgot. Usually when I draw, I listen to the same song over and over again...in these two sketches, I thought it would be interesting to write down some of the lyrics.

Enjoy!

These aren't the greatest ones I've done but the most recent. I did this one of The Joker around the time before I got married. Had to keep my mind off of the stress. I hadn't used acrylics in about 6-7 years. I usually used oil paints since I like that they are easier to blend and come back to. Also I used regular art paper (canvas was to small that I have) so the paper was starting to fall apart from being wet so I wasn't able to paint the whole face white and just had to use the white to try to blend and make the grey a little lighter.

This next one I spent way to many hours on. Still got some more work to do on it but close enough to being done. I did forget a few things in my sketch since I was trying to hurry to color it in. I sketched the picture in pencil and scanned it into the computer. I used Gimp to color it in. This is the first picture that I have ever colored in that actually had different shades. I have done just some coloring in for my husband's pictures of a solid color and then him do all his shading. I didn't use any custom brushes on it. The only things I used was sampling color from the real picture, dodge/burn tool, smudge, blur, regular brushes (no custom ones), airbrush, a mouse (no tablet) and the test tool just to put my screen name on it since I plan on posting it on other sites so people can look up my s/n to find more about me instead of just an unknown person. I only spent a couple hours on the sketch but over 20+ on the coloring over a few weeks. I will probably make the background also on it at some point.

I dabble in oil paints myself. I used to make money as a kid at the arts and crafts festivals with my paintings and started to pick it back up again while in the USAF in Vegas, had a decent following for a bit wanting paintings. I did not have the time when deployments started picking up. I loved doing nature scenes with no people in them, but always suggest people are around by painting a six pack holder, chip bag, or beer can or bottle some place in the painting. I mainly did it because it is getting very rare to see a beautiful natural setting without a little human trash around...I'm no tree hugger because I love to fish and hunt....but its not that hard to take your trash with you. Now I coach youth sports and my son is a wrestler so my time is zapped. I last painted something for my dad. I 'll get a pic of it when we go visit and post it. I have none of my own paintings because I enjoy giving them to others... and am very critical of my own stuff.

You guys have some nice stuff. A lot of talented Chicken lovers around here......
