BYC Art Club!!!!

I haven't tried drawing with a grid; I do have blending stumps.

Encouragement is helpful. I often wonder if art classes would help me, but I am just not sure.
Please try drawing with a grid once.

It's seem tedious and time consuming and it is, but you can produce some pretty amazing things buy using grids and it helps teach you the proportions.

I wasn't good at drawing at all, but someone told me to try a grid. It was annoying to do (and still is) but it will help you get the amazing drawings that you want to create. After seeing my first piece done with a grid, I was hooked. I love art!

sorry, I can't really help out it is kind of up to you. What is honors class? When i chose my elective classes I thought about which ones had good paying careers in, because sadly money makes the world go round these days:/ .
Oh ok. Well thank you anyways :) honors class is kinda like a regular class, but at a higher, faster level. Y'know? It helps your college application.
I ran into this situation last year.. Definitely talk to your art teacher. I went and talked to mine and he said to take the honor classes and that I could come in whenever I want to work.
Ah ok. My other thought was maybe I could get a wayver to let me take either a regular class or a class for the grade above me? Idk
Your art is FANTASTIC!please don't feel this way,I had a similar depression, after seeing art like yours!!!you are an AMAZING ARTIST. And the more you draw, the better you get.just try not to push yourself into becoming an immediate professional, you will improve with time.I hope this helps :)
X2!!!!
Thanks... I still feel like I'm not very good, but I will continue to work on it, whether I get better or worse. I mean, drawing is fun. I just hate feeling like I can't do better than a beginner, no offense to you beginners out there!
You can always get better, and you are good!
Chickenfan You are better at drawing that I was at 18 so don't let it get you done.. let it inspire you to keep going. Look at Picaso.. nasty and ugly in my opinion.. but a lot of people love his work. Take your blessing of talent and move forwards. Keep trying, and just because what your hand drew looks like someone else's work, doesn't mean that its not your art. If your hands drew it.. it is your art K :) :hugs
I agree with Chic CAN :)

Drawin with a grid is very helpful- that's what I do when I draw my horse heads
NO, NEVER QUITE chicken fan. Your art is wonderful and the more you keep drawing the better you get. "Try Try and Try again". "practice makes perfect" except in your case your closer to perfection thank may think:) .

awe ok! And of course it's a form of art- one of the oldest kinds! :)

Thank you for the kind words; it truly, honestly means a lot to me. If you think I am as good as you say I am, then it's reason enough for me to carry on! I've just had people tell me I suck and I shouldn't keep trying, 'cause I only fail and get worse, so I didn't know what to believe because I think the same exact things of myself/my artwork. And, I would love to take art lessons from you. If you have time to do so, I think it would really benefit me, because maybe I can go from this: To more like what you can do! I just want you to know your words are encouraging and helpful and fill me with joy. I know I sound like I'm merely saying thank you, but I am trying to express my true thanks. Thank you so much!
Your welcome :) don't listen to the people who tell you you can't. If someone is trying to bring you down, it only means you are above them. If you want some lessons, I can probably do them around anywhere from 5-9 eastern standard time :)
