This random act of kindness from someone made my day and filled me with joy and encouragement.
I was in a Hobby Lobby, looking at how-to-draw books and feeling quite down because, though encouraged, just looking at anything that's better than what I can do makes me depressed, sorta like a little kid. Anyways, I was all pouty and jealous 'cause I'm still not very good, especially when comparing myself to those better than me.
Anyways, I ambled over to the sketch book section and was meandering down the isle when I found a purple envelope. On the back of it, it said, If You Found This, This Is For You. (Yes, You!)
And upon flipping it over to the front, it said Open Me
.
I cautiously opened it, a little suspicious, I'll admit. But I became teary-eyed and filled with courage and happiness when I read the contents:
Dear You,
Sometimes we have to take risks- Not unhealthy or dangerous risks... but leaps of faith, jumps into unknown territory, steps forward into LIFE. Don't be afraid. Believe in yourself. Smile at the path ahead and just start walking. You can do it. You will do it. But you have to take the first step. The world is waiting for you! Don't make it wait too long.
With love,
Me.
I was surprised, astonished: I feel like this note was sent from the Lord himself, answering my prayers to help me with the one thing I want to be good at. I wish I could thank the person who wrote that note. It made my day.
