Byc auctions.

I was just wondering if the mods can come up with a new name for the "everything else for sale" Or if you could seperate it into 2 groups or something like "Poultry supplies" and "Everything else for sale" so it could be a bit neater. Sometimes it gets annoying looking though the list of stuff looking for incubators or poultry related items and getting other stuff that is not poultry related.

That's something we've been thinking about doing, especially as that section gets bigger.

Yes, you can find everything from art to incubators to tractors! I think that would be a good idea!

How about a category drop down?

Then we can sort by category w/o having to make a separate section.

Livestock/Pets (Got a LGD, or a Sheep to adopt out? One to many Billy goats?)
Poultry Products (incubators and chick waters, coops and candling equipment, hen aprons and chicken diapers)
Handmade items (Knitting? Crafting? Making jewelery? Post them here)
Foods (Jams and Jellies, cookies and candies- recipe books)
Vehicles (tractors and two-wheelers, boats and planes- if it needs an engine to go put it here)
Furniture (if its large and sits in a house it might be furniture)
Other (You got brick-bract that doesn't fit into the other categories?)

Yes but there is already a place to sell things, this would clean it up.

While they are at it maybe in the 'other poultry' give a drop down like the chickens have separate areas,

under 8 weeks
over 8 weeks
hatching eggs

Then everything has a place and everything is organized.

And there wouldn't need to be an entire new section that isn't chicken related the everything else for sale has a drop down when the Auction is created that allows the seller to pick a category.

Then 'sort by category' could be one of the choices in the very nice drop down menu already in place.

I just want BYC to stay BYC.

Nothing would change except the "Everything else for sale" would have a drop down list of choices where the seller would pick a choice and then the choice would allow people to sort by "poultry stuff" or Livestock/pets...

It would introduce order to chaos- I might need a chick feeder and water and incubator- instead of having to search endlessly I could 'sort by category' and then look just at the poultry stuff.

pepsnick I can see why you say this but as an older member. I have seen this place change a lot. For the best and worse on a few things but change always happen. Byc will always be byc but new things will be added and old things that just didn't work will be removed. As i see it byc will never become an auction site. It might improved like it already is but it will always be a forum. (unless in the future somehow forums are replaced by some new type system) but untill then byc will get inproved
