Just my 2 cents, but I think we should read a chapter, or half it is long. 2 verses, like fowlsessed said, might leave us hanging.

Well, that's not necessarily what I'm saying. My point is that we just need to asses the piece to be read. Even a chapter might end up leaving us up in the air with certain of them, a single verse might provide solid basis for a books worth of discussion. It all depends, so I don't think there's any solid rule to follow on this subject of length of the read. We'll play it by feel, I'm thinking.
Another option is by topic. Such as character of Jesus. His ministry here on earth, etc.
