I am excited to see other people who believe in God's word on this website. I can't wait to start reading along!

Ok.

. Are we starting at the beginning of Ephesians?

Yup, Eph. 1:1-2 :)

I'm in y'all, assuming it's still okay.
My two favorite topics-right on the same website, cool :)
BTW, I'll be using a KJV. I'm not sure we should not allow others to use different ones, but I guess we can have a "standard version" - the KJV. Other versions can be good in certain things that the KJ lacks, but it's amazing some of the things that have been left out of them! And things that have been added. All in all, I strongly believe that the KJV is the safest version, if nothing else. We pray and study that God, through the aid of the Holy Spirit, will give us enlightenment rather than just man's interpretations. Anyway, one last thought, for future references, let's look at what will be the reading: for example, today it's Ephesians 1:1-2, well, what if that would leave us with only half a thought? So just observe the given section, and say, maybe next time we'll read verses 3-12 because it captures the whole point. Sometimes, only one verse will need to be studied. Hope that makes sense. Looking forward to studying together.

Also @Bantamfan4

I am going to translate the KJV using Websters original created for that purpose. and post it :p should be fun.

I mentioned that earlier about making sure the verses chosen make a complete point. Otherwise you are discussing something open ended and can come to the wrong conclusions.

BTW EPH 1 1:2 is an addressement and an opening blessing. To a slew of spiritual blessings. Perhaps we should read to verse 6 and discuss that part knowing we can add to the discussion by piecing it out up to vs 14 for the same topic?

It’s funny you say verse 6, because that’s exactly where I was thinking would be a good place.

EPHESIANS 1:
Verse 1: I simply notice that Paul, such a mighty apostle, was called by Christ to work in His cause, as all of us are. And I also notice that in the particular passages to come, Paul notes that he is writing to the ‘Saints’ and ‘righteous in Jesus Christ’. Not necessarily evangelizing non-believers here, but admonishing and instructing the believers……..us!

Verse 2: A nice greeting!

I will be almost ‘translating’ the verse in my own words to share what I’m getting from it. That’s the easiest way I’m finding now to share.

Verse 3: Second part: God, who’s blessed us with every spiritual blessing possible, even from the Heavenly places, with (as in – when He gave us..) Christ

Verse 4: Going along with that He chose us, you & me; even before the foundations of the world were in place….to be Holy and without blame in His sight, in love.

Verse 5: Through Jesus Christ, it was predestined that we should be adopted unto Him, as is in line with His will.

Verse 6: And all this, will in the end, result in the praising of the glory of His grace….by the which He made us accepted with the beloved.

Just that little section is an amazing story of the whole ‘big picture’!: God, having the plan of our salvation in mind, Jesus coming and His ministry on our behalf, us becoming new in nature, and then the end, we know where that will be, when all will praise the magnificent glory of God’s grace, and the miracles that He accomplished in and for us.

Expanding on verse 4, where it says “That we should be Holy and without blame before Him.” That right there shows us what we have been called to, the grand and elevated call we must respond to. That is what we need to all be desiring. Holy, is simply being Christ-like, submitted in everyway and with everything to God’s will for us. It’s a miracle, but we have a part to play. When we do all we know now to do (spiritually speaking, of the admonishing’s of the Word), and continually trust and lean on Christ, more and more, we pray more, we overcome more; we are slowly cooperating in the metamorphosing of our natures to that that God wants to give us.
