A very reliable, very trustworthy, and backed by science method is to attach a metal object at the end of a piece of string and keep it still over the egg. If it swings vertically it's a male. If it swings in a rounded motion it's a female. Like I said, very trustworthy. As for what breed laid the egg, we can ask it when it hatches
