The reward is that you feel like a million bucks. 😃 Everybody wins who does it. For me... you would be amazed what losing a hundred pounds (embarrassed that I had a hundred to lose) will do for aging joints. It's like getting a whole new body. I still look at myself in the mirror and feel weird sometimes--like, is that me? But it is. And that's been what... four years ago now? Five?🤷‍♀️ I struggled with this all my life. If I can, anyone can.
I have been doing the yo-yo for about 5 years, lose some, exercise some- gain some more- I was walking 4 miles every week day last spring- for 6 months and did not lose a pound and did not feel like I looked any better. I will try to down load the app and get started on Tuesday after the holiday. My FitBit is an older model- so we will see if it will work with the newer programs. I want to do Zumba- maybe it will record the steps. It makes me mad, I stayed trim and fit until a few years ago- now I can not seem to stick with anything. 😡

If you want to lose weight, it's not enough to just exercise. At the very least you need to write down everything you eat or drink.

Ideally, you'd use an app to calculate your caloric intake vs burn. I like My Fitness Pal. It's free, easy to use, has a huge data base of foods, and is easy and intuitive to connect it to the Fitbit app (from the MFP app--Fitbit prefers you use their app, which isn't bad, but MFP is a lot better). I have a Charge 2, officially outdated/no longer supported. 🤷‍♀️ I'll buy a new one when it dies, but it still works fine.

Plus you have a great support group here to cheer you on. You can do it! :thumbsup :thumbsup :thumbsup

Thank you. I need all the help I can get. Last year I was on the LEAP diet. - I had a nutritionist do some blood work and help me. For 4 months I was not allowed any Flour, Gluten, no Dairy ( Milk- butter icecream- nothing) and no eggs, and I did not lose a pound. - BUT I felt so much better and saw some health improvements. My thyroid is fine. I am exasperated at this point. BUT Next week I am getting on the BYC Train and we will see where it goes.
 
I don't stress over getting the exact right thing. I have beef from my cousin. I just enter "ground beef 90% lean and the amount. MFP even lists grass-fed turkey, turkey eggs, goose eggs, duck eggs... All sorts of meals from all sorts of restaurants, scans UPC on packaging and only rarely fails to have a listing.

It's actually no work at all. Definitely easier than carrying around the extra pounds, hating to go clothes shopping, constant backache and painful joints... I pick whatever choice pops up from my entry that seems closest. You can let the perfect become the enemy of the good, being too picky about getting that exact precise match.
 
It’s memorial day weekend!! That’s why it won’t get here today. I completely forgot. At least I think that’s the reason because it’s already in the state less than 3 hrs from me, but that doesn’t matter since everyone will be off. 😒 back when I used to work I loved holidays, now they put a wrench in my plans 😆
