That ime is a good sign.
I ended up training Notch to do this in order to deal with his aggressive behviour at feeding time.
Now instead of it looking like I'm taking over his job by feeding his hens, he comes and 'gets' me close to meal times, I give him first go at the bowl and we walk over to his hens together. Apparently it looks very funny. He struts along beside me looking very pleased with himself and of course, very important and when I put the food down he nods energetically at the bowl and calls his hens to eat. I didn't have any further problems with him after adopting this strategy at feeding time and now I can pick him up during the day without any fuss.

I like how you & Notch worked that out! I bet he was proud of himself for fetching you

It's my scheduled day off but there's a big retirement reception going on at the restaurant this afternoon so I'll be working (I'm the cook/baker).

Too dang early o'clock! Got a phone call at 1:30am, that woke us both up so we've been drinking coffee & chatting. I'm too wound up about getting everything ready for this afternoon's event to relax back to sleep now.

Yes, salt mine today. Might have to talk to the boss about some things and I'm ready to rumble. I hope that eases a bit before I get started for the day

The woman retiring estimated about 60 people coming to the reception. We'll have a whole spread of finger-type food lined up for them: ribs, wings, little smokies, fruit salad, veggie tray, cheese & crackers, 3 cakes, 2 types of cookies and 2 kinds of bars. Hope there will be enough...the woman retiring is very popular around hard to say how many will come to say goodbye.

The boss is going to bitch at me because my adherence to my schedule isn't meeting company standards, I'm off by a few percentage points and my customer satisfaction results weren't great for May. My mom is having some medical concerns, my dad is flippant about it and my sister is ridiculous about it so I've been trying to keep her sane. More important than anything in the world is my mom so get over it probably won't go over well, but that's where I'm at.
